From Air Force to Boat Transportation: A Message From a uShip Veteran

As uShip recently unveiled it’s new site, uShip for Military, a site dedicated to current and former Military members on uShip, we are proud to share a valued Air Force veteran and uShip Transport Service Provider’s (TSP) perspective.

The following is an original post by Roger G, a boat transporter with uShip.

Roger G. Boat Tranporter on uShip

Let me be one of the first to welcome you to uShip. We appreciate ALL our Military, active duty, and veterans.

I think you will find uShip a much easier alternative for your PCS move than a government procured move, which you may have chosen in the past. With uShip, you will always know who has your stuff and where it is.

I began using uShip in 2007 and the amount of great friends I have made through uShip amazes me. As an Air Force Veteran (serving 1980-1986), I originally drove tractor trailers coast to coast for many years.

Now, through uShip, I am able to actually make connections with the folks I have moved boats and many other items for – this has been an awesome career change.

Being former Military, what is the one thing that they teach you continuously? BE ON TIME. I pride myself on always being on time and I credit that to my former Military service. Being late was not acceptable then and is not acceptable when I am moving your boat, trailer, or other items door to door or coast to coast.

Being stationed in diverse places such as North Dakota, Alaska, Sardinia, Italy and Saudi Arabia has also helped me deal with extreme weather conditions which are often found between point A and point B on cross-country runs. If I tell you that I will be somewhere or do something, it will be done and on time as promised, because that is the Military way.

I have done many Military boat transports, as well as enclosed trailer relocation and have never had a problem that could not be handled promptly. Recently, I had the opportunity to transport a Lt. Colonel’s boat from the east coast to the San Diego port to be shipped to Hawaii. Hearing from the Lt. Col. that the boat made it there in perfect condition was very gratifying to me.

To my Military veterans, I would like to personally thank you for your service and I sincerely hope to add you to my feedback and friends list. If you want someone who will take care of your shipment as good as or even better than yourself, choose a Military veteran on uShip. You can identify a veteran by looking for the “TroopID Verified” badge on their profile. We (US Veteran transporters) have been in your shoes.

We understand how important it is to ship your items safely and securely across the country or even around the world. Thank you for using uShip and I hope we get to work together someday.

uShip is reinventing shipping and logistics through tools, trust and transparency. Through uShip’s transport marketplace, it’s now faster, easier and cheaper for consumers and businesses to connect with thousands of customer-reviewed transporters that often have empty truck space offered at a discounted rate.

Ship anything, anytime, anywhere with uShip!

That’s great another illegal carrier you are promoting. Pretty sure you still need to have dot number to transport boats.

Thanks for your service Roger (both in the Air Force and as a transporter on uShip.) I’m proud to be an American because of hard working people like you!
