Charles “Charlie” Myers has never met an ice cream, gelato or soft-serve yogurt he didn’t like. Aside from its pure deliciousness, it’s his true appreciation for what it took for that frozen concoction to reach him in the first place that makes it so sweet.
The recently retired former GM of Truckload Freight at uShip, Charlie has spent a sizable helping of his 39 years in transportation industry dedicated to the cold chain and refrigerated transport infrastructure. In fact, he first became interested in refrigerated transportation while with England Logistics and working on the company’s entrance into the China domestic market. He’s also been on the Board of Directors at the International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA) and been involved with Uzbekistan’s cold chain expansion as well.
Charlie was recently named “Executive of the Year” by the IRTA for his years of service to the association and his commitment to working with the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA) International Programs on donor-funded projects to improve the refrigerated transportation industry around the world. The GCCA recently profiled Charlie in its quarterly newsletter, digging into what drives his desire around reefer transport and more. Check it out here.
