“Goin’ Mobile” Gets ‘Pushy’: uShip Mobile App Now Available on iPhone, Android, WebOS Smartphones

Even back in 1971, Pete Townshend and The Who were really onto something.  It’s as if their song “Goin’ Mobile” spoke directly to current and future generations of transporters on uShip, both of whom are constantly “goin’ mobile,” both on our highways and on their cell phones.  And now – 40 years after the song was released – transporters are more mobile than ever with the launch of the uShip Mobile App, a free application for the Apple iPhone, Android and WebOS smartphones.

Life just got a lot easier for truckers on uShip who use smartphones – the uShip Mobile App essentially turns transporter’s cell phones into “mini-laptop” for their business.  Here are some of the benefits:

  • “Push notifications” – even when the app is closed, know when a bid is accepted, declined or questions are asked
  • Full messages – no more pulling over to read the remainder of shortened text and email alerts, meaning less lost time on the road
  • Navigation – verify delivery addresses, with directions and map view

Check out a full list of app features and benefits here.

The uShip App is currently for U.S. users, and will be available globally by early next year.  The app is coming soon to Blackberry OS6, iPad and Windows Phone 7.

To download the application, visit our Mobile Apps page, search “uShip” in your phone’s app catalog or find it through the Apple App Store, Android Market or the Palm App Store.
