Effective on November 1st 2011, two new rewards programs will be replacing the Power Provider program. The current program lumps brokers and carriers together under the same requirements. We recognize that, over the years, it’s been harder for owner-operators and smaller carriers to qualify for the Power Provider program than it has been for brokers who handle more shipping volume. It is time to create separate programs that more fairly recognize the top performing, elite brokers and carriers relative to their respective groups on uShip. The benefits of each of the new programs will be tailored to better suit the changing roles and unique needs of each of these groups on uShip.
Here is a sneak peek at some of the changing requirements and benefits of each program:
In addition to bidding on customer freight, brokers can now post brokered loads on uShip, and our new program is designed to recognize and reward brokers who use uShip in both of these ways. To qualify for the new program, brokers will have to meet minimum levels of brokered load transactions – so brokers, start posting! Many of the same Power Provider benefits will remain, but a new cash-back rewards program will replace the current match fee discounts.
Broker To-Do List:
- If you are a licensed broker but don’t already have a broker account type, switch to a broker account type now.
- Start posting loads – you can either re-post loads you won on uShip or post loads you find elsewhere.
Our new Power Carrier program will have similar requirements and benefits as the existing program, but some exciting new benefits more suited to carriers will replace some old ones. Similar to brokers, the current match fee discount will be replaced by some great new benefits – including free wireless phone service. You heard that right – as we celebrate the launch of our new smartphone apps, we are working with wireless providers to pay for your voice, unlimited data, and unlimited text service! For our top-tier Power Carriers, we’re even going to send you a new mobile device (so don’t renew your contract just yet!).
Carrier To-Do List:
- Get Verified – If you are a verified carrier, all uShip loads will count toward your Power Carrier status.
Loads in the following categories will count toward your Power Carrier status regardless of your CarrierWatch status:
- Keep up the good work! Book loads on uShip as you always would.
Both programs will include new icons for your profile so customers will recognize you as an elite among your uShip peers, and you can expect to continue to receive VIP support from your account manager. More details to come in October, so stay tuned!
