Roy Garber (uShip handle arbiesteam)Roy Garber, star of A&E reality show Shipping Wars and long-time transporter on uShip, has died of a heart attack, according to the show’s production company, Megalomedia.   The story ran on Variety’s Web site Saturday night.  Roy was 49.

Garber owned and operated Arbie’s Team Transport out of New Hampshire, along with his son Travis.

The following is uShip’s statement on Roy’s passing:

The uShip team is shocked and incredibly saddened to hear about the passing of Roy Garber.  While millions of Shipping Wars viewers will remember Roy as a bigger-than-life personality who knew what it took to get the delivery job done, many of us in the uShip family knew him as a personal friend.  He spent considerable time at our Austin headquarters, served as company spokesperson and was a long-time service provider on our site.  Our hearts, prayers and condolences go out to his family at this difficult time.

I can not honestly say how sad I am that we have lost Roy of Shipping Wars. Might sound strange – don’t care. He was my favorite character on the show – he adored his cat and he had the same view on people that I do … RIP Roy – I can’t imagine watching the show without you. I thought about calling once or twice to see if you might make an appearance for PAWS on behalf of the cats we rescue – now I sure wish I had made the time to do so – Kim – President of PAWS – http://www.pawscanada.org – Ontario, Canada.

I don’t know if it was Roy, but we past his black truck yesterday in Austin out on the 130 tollway yesterday! Very sad, so young.

He was the best person and character I have ever seen. His love of his cat and his feelings of kids. He was awesome. He also had the carpentry for all loads and how to haul them. HE WAS THE BEST AND STILL OUT OF ALL OF THEM!!!

  • Skyesong

He was a truly wonderful human being it is a very big loss to the world. I remember watching the episode where he shipped a ride for a kid for free, out of the goodness of his heart. The world has lost a truly good soul. May he rest in peace.

  • Shadow Hauling And Transport

I didn’t know of his death until I watched the memorial show and then read it on here. So sad, he was one of two that actually ran legal and knew what they were doing on the show. He was one that I would hate one minute and love the next. He had the right idea, love cats and kids because adults can be ignorant. He was a pleasure to watch and I always was looking for him on the road but now now he will be looking down on us as we continue pounding the roads saying, dumb ass nickel holding up a dollar. RIP Mr. Roy Garber of Arbie’s Team Transport.
