The Austin American-Statesman’s annual Top Workplaces list has been announced — and uShip ranks No. 10 in the small business category, the third straight year we’ve made this illustrious local ledger. uShip ranked No. 12 last year and No. 15 in 2010.
A third-party survey of uShip’s full-time employees shows strong company performance in several categories, including company direction, execution, career development, executive leadership, workplace conditions, compensation and benefits.
“What makes getting on the Austin Top Workplaces list special is that it’s an employee-sourced survey and that we’ve continued to climb even while rapidly growing the team,” said Matt Chasen, founder and CEO of uShip. “We feel this is a direct result of a sustained culture and an environment that appreciates employees and encourages participation.”
Here’s what some of the uShip employees had to say in the open-answer, write-in questions:
“Fantastic atmosphere and culture, great people, challenging but rewarding work. Our product helps thousands of people every day.”
“uShip has created an environment that is fun, challenging, and efficient all at the same time. I truly enjoy the time I spend at work, while I also feel that my work is useful
and rewarding. ”
“Talented, passionate people aspiring to change the world.”
“I consider the culture and flexibility a benefit. I also appreciate the food program immensely!”
“Thousands of people depend on us daily for their livelihood.”
uShip currently has 110 employees, the vast majority of which work at the company’s 18,000 square foot office building in downtown Austin. Additional employees are located in Amsterdam and within the U.S.
By the way, we’re hiring.
