How A Decade of uShip Makes One Shipper Feel Like Family

Matt Adams has been using uShip since the early days. He lives in San Diego, but is originally from Montana. He’s got a home up there, so he’s been shipping things back and forth for years. uShip has been his go-to source for more than ten years to ship furniture, a boat, an RV, and most recently, two vintage vehicles.

So what’s kept him coming back to the uShip marketplace for a full decade?

“It made me comfortable that I could use a company that would back up my shipment,” Matt says, “I wasn’t just picking someone randomly. I always start there.”

Beyond being able to carefully select his own transporter, Matt says that, remarkably, every time he’s shipped something, he’s found he has some connection with the transporter. During his most recent shipment, he recalls, the transporter called him from an area code of the tiny town in Idaho where he grew up and they discovered they were from the same area. Another time, he discovered he went to high school with the woman who would be transporting his snowmobiles.

“It’s a big family, uShip. I kind of like that.”

In December, Matt won our vehicle shipping contest, where we randomly selected an eligible shipping customer to win $2500. It was during this shipment that he met his Idahoan comrade.

“It went really well,” Matt says, “I brought the car and truck to him, he loaded it up and I got to go back to work.”

Matt was shipping a pair of award-winning vintage vehicles, a 1964 Galaxie 500 XL and a matching pickup, reconditioned and painted to match the car to pull it on a trailer to car shows. The vehicles required the utmost care and consideration due to their age and condition.

The transporter, Vann Logistics, was careful to understand what the most important aspect of the shipment was to Matt, and ensured the vehicles would work on their trailer before the quote was accepted. All this, paired with simply excellent transport, contributed to an all-around fantastic shipment.

“We received the car and truck ourselves, they were in great shape, he did a great job. We had a conversation about Greenfield and Idaho, since that’s the area I grew up in, asked him if he’d been out hunting yet this year” Matt remembers.

We agree with Matt about uShip being like a family. When everyone’s on the same page and careful planning is put into play, we’ve found it’s easy to forge human connections with just about everyone, even if they’re not from your tiny Idaho town.
