For the sixth year, uShip has been named one of the Austin American Statesman’s Top Workplaces in Austin.
The contest is based on anonymous surveys distributed to 37,000 employees of 1,160 nominated Austin companies. Questions are based around issues like leadership and direction, values and ethics, workplace environment, and pay and benefits.
uShip has been listed as a top workplace in the survey in five other years: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2018. So what is it that makes uShip such a great place to work? We asked a few employees to chime in with their take:

“Our post-work activities are pretty unique. Most companies don’t have on-site post-work yoga, meditation, game night, and definitely not Canoeship, our canoeing club. None of these involve alcohol and they’re a post-work way to practice self-care while you network and meet colleagues you don’t get to interact with throughout the workday.”

“While everyone is very professionally talented here, I’ve found myself constantly inspired by many people’s interests, hobbies, and talents outside of work as well. When we hire, we look at the whole person and the diversity of experience that they can bring to uShip. This can mean that we have someone on staff who is a comedian and a recruiter, or a writer and a member support specialist, or a UX designer and a photographer. We have food bloggers, musicians, actors, artists, designers, pet fosters, chefs, podcast hosts, illustrators etc.
