Help on Wheels Delivers Mad Men Auction Items

Help on Wheels, uShip’s charity delivery vehicle, recently returned to Austin after nearly a month on the road. The Help on Wheels team traveled throughout the Southwest US and California, delivering items free of charge from the set of Mad Men’s first three seasons to winning eBay auction winners.

uShip was thrilled to donate its services to the auction because it supports a fantastic cause. A portion of the proceeds raised by the Mad Men eBay auction benefit the Lung Cancer Program at City of Hope, one of the nation’s leading research, treatment and education centers for cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Here are some of the beautiful midcentury pieces we’ve transported that you might recognize from AMC’s Emmy Award-winning show.

Don Draper’s desk, credenza and chairs were especially competitive auction items from the Sterling Cooper offices.

We delivered one of Lane’s couches, above to auction winner Kristy Stubbs, an art dealer and gallerist in Dallas, Texas. The sofa looks at great in its new home!

We had other opportunities to help out on the road as well. One of the highlights of our trip was meeting with Transport Service Providers in Phoenix. We think it’s one of the best ways to collect valuable feedback on our site!

And in Santa Barbara, CA, delivered 55 bales of hay for Hooves of Hope, a horse rescue and adoption organization.

In upcoming posts, we hope to share more about our Summer Help on Wheels tour.
