Item No. 1: Indy Race Car
There have been a variety of cool, fun cars and vehicles transported on Shipping Wars — a paddy wagon, Elvis’s El Dorado, antiques, military tanks, to name a few, but perhaps none cooler than this Indy Racing Car, headed to Las Vegas from Indianapolis. This is not actually a race-ready car; it’s a show car, just a shell with steering capabilities, often used for corporate events and such. But still valued at $675,000 with driver Alex Tagliani on hand for the load-up. This particular show car is owned by Bryan Herta Autosport, the team that won the 2011 Indy 500 with the late Dan Wheldon at the wheel. After winning the Indy 500 in May, Wheldon was killed a few months later on Oct. 16 at a race in Las Vegas.
